I'm Mitch, the founder and developer behind HostHive.
I want to tell you about the biggest update we've ever shipped — and why I'm giving it away for free.
The Problem I Couldn't Ignore
My wife and I manage a few vacation rentals ourselves. We know the drill.
Guest checks out at 11am. Cleaner needs to be there by 2pm. Next guest arrives at 4pm.
Simple, right?
Except it never felt simple.
Every checkout meant the same routine: check the calendar, text the cleaner, hope they saw it, follow up if they didn't. Then do it again for the next property. And the next.
Bookings lived inside Airbnb. Cleaners lived in group texts. Calendar changes required manual double-checking. Guest communication happened somewhere else entirely.
Nothing connected.
So we compensated. We built habits. Checked things twice. Sent reminders. Kept mental notes.
It worked — until it didn't.
A missed text. A date change we forgot to relay. A cleaner who showed up to the wrong property.
Small things that became big problems.
That's when I knew I had to build something better.
What I Learned Building Version 1
When I launched the first version of HostHive, the goal was simple:
Make turnovers easier.
And it worked — to a point.
But as more hosts used it, something became clear.
Turnovers weren't the real problem.
Fragmentation was.
Scheduling lived in one place. Communication in another. Guest experience somewhere else entirely.
Hosts didn't need another tool.
They needed a layer connecting everything.
So I stepped back and asked myself:
If I were building this from scratch, knowing what I know now — what would it look like?
Turnovers That Schedule Themselves
At its core, HostHive 2.0 does one thing exceptionally well:
It removes coordination.
Connect your calendar once.
When a guest checks out, the cleaning is scheduled automatically. Your cleaner gets notified. You don't touch a thing.
No manual checks. No group texts. No double-bookings.
It just happens.
This is how it should have always worked.
Built for Calm, Not Chaos
I believe operational tools should feel simple — even when the work behind them isn't.
HostHive 2.0 was rebuilt around one idea:
Approachable simplicity.
- •Generous space
- •Clear hierarchy
- •One primary action per screen
- •Obvious labels
- •No hidden features
Nothing clever. Nothing dense. Nothing that makes you feel like you need a training video.
If something felt crowded, I removed it. If something felt confusing, I simplified it. If something didn't need to exist, it didn't ship.
The goal wasn't to impress.
It was to feel inevitable — like the only way it could be.
Introducing GuestBook
Operations are only half the equation.
Great hosts don't just manage properties. They create experiences.
GuestBook extends HostHive beyond coordination into connection.
Every stay includes a beautiful, mobile-friendly guide. WiFi details. House instructions. Local recommendations you actually curated.
After checkout, guests receive a recap they can share with friends.
Those friends visit your public property page. Some request to book directly with you.
And every guest who logs in verifies their email — building your list automatically.
Every guest becomes a marketing channel.
Not through ads. Not through popups.
Just through a better experience.
Your Data Stays Yours
This matters to me personally.
Your guest list is private. I don't sell it. I don't mine it. I don't even look at it.
All personal data is encrypted using AES-256 — the same standard used by banks.
You own your relationships. I just help you manage them.
Why It's Free
People keep asking me this.
Honestly? Professional tools shouldn't be locked behind enterprise pricing. If you're managing a handful of properties and doing the work yourself, you deserve software that respects that.
This isn't a promotion or a limited-time offer.
It's just where I am right now. Building. Learning. Making it better.
What This Means For You
HostHive now connects:
- •Scheduling
- •Team coordination
- •Guest experience
- •Retention
In one calm, unified system.
No noise. No clutter. No unnecessary complexity.
Just the operations layer you wish existed years ago.
Where We're Going
This rebuild sets the foundation for what comes next.
Smarter automation. Deeper operational insights. Better coordination across teams. Stronger direct guest relationships.
I'm building HostHive to be the operating system for independent hosts.
And I'm just getting started.
If you already have an account, it's been upgraded. Just log in.
